The OTTERS Spring School is happening from the 22nd to the 25th of May 2025 in Oeiras, Portugal, running in parallel with the Final Conference of the OTTERS Project. This event will offer participants a unique opportunity to engage with renowned institutions like the European Citizen Science Association (ECSA) and leading experts in the fields of Citizen Science and researchers in the aquatic field.

The venue
The conference will be held at Taguspark, Portugal’s largest science and technology park, located in the Municipality of Oeiras. Renowned as the City of Knowledge, Taguspark offers a unique ecosystem that brings together businesses, research centers, and universities. This dynamic environment fosters innovation, enabling organizations, entrepreneurs, and startups to develop marketable solutions with strong potential for export and internationalization.
Getting to Taguspark
Taguspark is easily accessible by car, taxi, or app-based ride services:
- From Lisbon, take the A5 motorway (exit 7 – Porto Salvo) or the IC 19 (Cacém exit, for Paço d’Arcos).
- Travelers from Sintra or Cascais can also use the IC 19 and A5, respectively.
For those using public transport:
- Taguspark is well-connected via the Lisbon-Sintra and Lisbon-Cascais railway lines, with nearby stations including Cacém, Barcarena, Paço de Arcos, and Oeiras.
- A free shuttle service is available between Paço de Arcos station and Taguspark.
- Additionally, several Vimeca bus routes (15, 23, 112, 119, and 125) stop at Taguspark. Timetables for these routes can be consulted online.
- Several buses connect Lisbon, Oeiras, and Cascais to Taguspark:
- From Lisbon (Marquês de Pombal or Algés), take Scotturb 15 or 23.
- From Oeiras station, take Scotturb 15.
- From Cais do Sodré, take Carris Metropolitana 471
- Cycling paths are also available, but due to the hilly terrain, it is recommended to use an e-bike for a more comfortable ride.
