NUCLIO will connect Portuguese-speaking students to the Monsaraz Mars Analog Mission at the Alqueva Lake Observatory (OLA). Online sessions will provide exclusive, real-time access to the mission’s interior, allowing students to interact with researchers and analog astronauts.
During the month of July, the NUCLIO team was very active, involved in major international teacher training events that marked the final phase of another school year across Europe.
Nine European high school students had the opportunity to be astronauts for a week during the first analog mission of the EXPLORE project, held at the Alqueva Lake Observatory in the heart of Alentejo.
The first open-air space mission for students in Portugal will take place at the Alqueva Lake Observatory, between 23 and 27 June 2025. Nine young Europeans from three different countries will experience life in an isolated and challenging environment, that will simulate Mars in the heart of Alentejo.
